I work under the motto, "The sun will rise and set regardless. What we choose to do with the light while its here is up to us..." I fully believe in journeying with my clients through treatment. I truly enjoy working with my clients on the variety of life's ups and downs.

So, let’s start with the technical stuff. I completed graduate school in 2011 earning my doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Over the years, I’ve done a variety of things in the mental health field. Mostly, I’ve done psychological testing, psychotherapy, and working with special needs adults. I love helping clients learn so rather than preferred diagnoses, my specialty is working on relationships. This includes the relationship with the self and relationships with others. After the ups and downs of working in facilities, my friend and I decided to branch out and open an office focused on good client care. And, from there Balance Beacon was born.

Dr. LaFonya Jones-Hines

I believe in internal power and strength. It may feel like internal power and strength is non-existent because there are times when situations and circumstances seem to get the best of life. If you need help in this area, therapy can be scary but courageous and a necessary step for you.

Memphis is where my love for dancing developed and expanded. Dancing is my first love and I have continued to dance throughout my life, as I have found it to be therapeutic. I also enjoy family life, I enjoy sitting around with family, watching tv shows or having conversations. I also enjoy traveling. I enjoy experiencing different scenes. I have traveled many places just for school starting with North Carolina where my family resides.

My desire to become a therapist developed later in my life, specifically my senior year in undergraduate school. While I majored in psychology my intentions were to enroll in law school. However, my plans changed after God stirred me in a different direction. I knew I enjoyed my psychology classes in undergraduate school but I did not realize that therapy was going to be my destiny. While enrolled in my Master’s program I had a job working with children allowing me to utilize my skills in therapy. By this point I was enjoying therapy more and attending law school was continuing to fade away. By the time I completed my Master’s degree I was working with children, and families. It felt like I found what I was meant to do. In addition to therapy, I also became a psychometrist where I was doing assessments. This additional skill seemed to seal my career of becoming a therapist. I believed the field of psychology was rewarding in many capacities. I was not only able to help people on a journey of changing their lives, learning more about themselves and guiding them to the best version of themselves. I was also able to help them understand the symptoms they were experiencing by explaining it through diagnostic assessments.

Dr. Nichelle Wall

I was born and raised in Texas. I love the Texas Summer nights and Autumn days. I grew up in a blended family of my mother, grandparents, biological brother, and many foster brothers and sisters. Let's just say things were always interesting, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Those experiences helped shape who I am and gave me insight into a variety of people.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and a Certified Sex Therapist (CST). I received a Doctorate of Education in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University. I have a Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development from Hardin-Simmons University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Abilene Christian University.

When I'm not counseling, I love to read all things paranormal (i.e. vampires, werewolves, fae, etc.). I enjoy music, different forms of dance and fitness, cooking and eating new dishes, as well as, traveling. Also, I am one third of The RePsychled Podcast, which is a podcast that focuses on educating and bringing mental health awareness to minority communities in a down to earth way.

Courtney Jackson, LCASA, LCSW

I am a native of North Carolina and have worked in the mental health field for nearly 10 years.  Within that time, I helped to serve underserved populations, our nations veterans & at-risk youth in my community.  I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.  I then went on to gain a second bachelor degree in social work and a Master of Social Work from Fayetteville State University.

Prior to becoming a licensed clinician, I was selected as a global scholar and traveled to Shanghai, China to study at the prestigious Fudan University.  During this experience, I studied globalization and gained a strong interest in understanding and working with cultures outside of my own.

While preparing to become a mental health professional, I worked as a mentor/teacher with a psychiatric residential treatment facility for adolescents as well as an academic advisor & AmeriCorps member through The Harlem Children’s Zone.

I lived in Los Angeles, CA and Brooklyn, NY working as a writer and on-air personality for several radio, television, and online productions.  I currently reside in Dallas, TX where I volunteer as an online substance abuse facilitator for the T.O.R.I. program of Potter’s House Dallas and produces a weekly podcast.  As a licensed clinician, I worked with clients suffering with an array of mental health issues and disorders.  I specialize in the areas of: depression, anxiety, substance abuse disorders, parent-child relational problem, childhood trauma, and ADHD (children & adults).

It is a privilege to work with someone who is working on their life and to witness the improvements that develop. I strive to increase hope, teach coping skills, and empower clients to find solutions to problems. I have experience working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families. I studied at the Brief Institute in Solution-Oriented and Narrative Therapy and have training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. We can work together to make the positive adjustments you want in your life. My office is a safe place for people of all backgrounds and faiths.

Growing up, my father was in the Air Force, so I moved around when I was younger. I deeply appreciate being home, but love traveling. I enjoy spending time with my family, doing art, yoga, dancing, good movies, TV, music, and books.

I consider myself a Texan, born and raised. Starting life in the bustling Fort Worth area before transitioning to the college town of Lubbock for my formative years. Texas Tech University was more than just an alma mater; it's where I truly found adulthood. The experiences I have had in both cities have helped to craft me into an individual who continues to seek out knowledge, is a cheerleader for others, and a person who helps individuals foster insight into themselves.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) who has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have assisted the community for nearly a decade. My goal is to educate the community about mental health, coping strategies, and healing as a holistic approach encouraging treatment both inside and out.

In my free time, you can find me watching anime, 90s cartoons, K-dramas/J-dramas, or snuggling up with a good journal article. I enjoy seeking out different types of cuisines and when I have time sitting with a well-cultivated group of friends.
